How do you label a pipe that is rusty, greasy or has unlagged insulation?
Use a Pipe Grabber™
Pipe Grabbers™ provide a clean surface to which pipe labels can be applied.
A Pipe Grabber is a clear plastic sleeve that fits around a pipe. The label is first applied to the Pipe Grabber, then the Pipe Grabber is "snapped" into place on the pipe. The "curl" that is built into the plastic will result in the Pipe Grabber tightly wrapping around the pipe. However, if there is concern about the Pipe Grabber coming loose, plastic ties can be used to hold it securely in place.
In addition to providing a clean surface for labeling pipes, Pipe Grabbers are excellent for labeling difficult to reach pipes and for labeling temporary piping.
Labeling Difficult To Reach Pipes: With Pipe Grabbers labels can be applied to the sleeves in your shop under controlled conditions. The sleeves can then be quickly "snapped" onto pipes that are difficult to reach or are located in a harsh environment. You'll save time and improve the quality and durability of your labels.
When temporary piping is needed, use Pipe Grabber sleeves to label those pipes. Sleeves can be "snapped" onto the pipe and be secured with plastic ties. When the pipe is no longer needed, just cut the plastic ties and remove the sleeve. You can even reuse Pipe Grabbers on other pipes, or change them if the contents of the pipe change.
Pipe Grabbers may also be used for marking conduit and other cylindrical objects.
